Getting Started

Welcome to the world of laser marking! If this is your first time using this device, don't be nervous - it's essentially like a 'precision printer'. This tutorial will take you through the entire process from booting up to printing the first pattern.

Safety Warning (the first and most important one)

1. Special laser protective goggles must be worn, and it is not allowed to directly look at the laser or mirror reflection light with the eyes at any time.

2. It is prohibited to place hands or other flammable materials in the processing area during marking.

3. Do not open the upper cover (if any) when the device is working. Some models have cover protection, but do not rely on it.

4. Ensure that the working environment is well ventilated, as marking materials such as plastic and leather may produce odors.

💡 If any of the above are violated, it may result in permanent visual impairment or fire!

Step 1: Get to know your machine

Step 2: Connect and power on

Connect the power supply, USB TypeC data cable, and turn on the computer.

Turn on the laser power and emergency stop switch, and wait for 1-2 minutes for the laser to self check.

Check the cover of the vibrating lens to ensure that it does not obstruct the light output

Open the marking software (EDone or LightBurn).

💡  Check if it is normal: the machine lights up the logo light and the software displays "Connected" in the upper right corner.

Step 3: Place the workpiece and focus (3 minutes)

Objective: Place the object you want to mark under the focused red light, adjust the focal length to the correct level, and then place the workpiece under the galvanometer.

Focusing method:

Place the workpiece under the focused red light on the left side.

Click the "Focus" button in the software to automatically focus.

Step 4: Software Minimalist Operation (5 minutes)

Let's take the most common EDone as an example:

Create a new file, click on the "Text Tool" on the left, and enter your handsome name (such as "HandSome").

Resize: Select the text, set the width in the upper attribute bar or drag the border directly to adjust the size by 20mm, and check "Equal Proportion".

Set basic parameters:

Choose filling with a density of 0.03mm.

Power: First, test with low speed and low power (such as setting 30% power and 500mm/s speed).

Red light positioning: Click on the "Preview" on the software toolbar to see if the red box is within the range of the workpiece (or press F1).

Marking: Click the "Marking" button (or press F2).

Step 5: Observe the results and make adjustments

Too shallow: Gradually increase power (+5% each time) or decrease speed (-100mm/s each time).

Too wide/blurry: The focal length may not be accurate, please refocus; Or the speed is too fast/the power is too high.

No traces were found: check if the "mark" was clicked, check if the lens is obstructed

🎉  When you successfully type your first clear text or symbol, congratulations, you have crossed the threshold of beginners!
